Am I required by law to test for all of these contaminants?
In Florida, you must test medical cannabis for contaminants to ensure they are safe for patient use. The Florida Department of Health is working with Florida’s Department of Agriculture to determine rules for toxins such as residual solvents, pesticides, microbial matter, mycotoxins, heavy metals and pathogens. The testing services above are fully compliant with the medical requirements and may apply to adult-use products in the future.
COMPLIANCE TESTING SERVICES
ACS Laboratory is compliant with Florida’s medical marijuana requirements. At the federal level, cannabis is still illegal so there are no standards yet, but ACS currently exceeds the USDA’s rules for hemp testing and will stay up to date with any changes to the law. The latest hemp rules require that laboratories analyze THC and THCA, utilize Liquid or Gas Chromatography tests, and provide electronic results. ACS also exceeds laboratory quality requirements through our ISO 17025 accreditation.
R + D TESTING
At ACS Laboratory, we conduct also R+D testing, intended for manufacturers and cultivators who want to improve the process of creating CBD products. R&D tests are conducted using the same protocols as compliance tests. The only difference is that you may select an R+D test individually based on your category of interest. On the other hand, you may choose compliance testing if you want a full panel to guarantee that your product is free of all contaminants above.
