HOW ACCURATE ARE THE RESULTS?
Our methods for vape testing guarantee precise results. Through our proven methods, we employ Ultra High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) with Ultraviolet Detectors to safely test samples at room temperature without heat. This method provides consistent, reliable results, and we have the awards to prove it. For the last two years, we’ve received badges for excellence in potency testing from the Emerald Test, a nationwide Inter-Laboratory Comparison test.
We test vapes for:
Vapes Contaminant + Vitamin E Testing:ACS tests vapes for dangerous residual solvents, pesticides, molds, mildew, heavy metals and mycotoxins. We know the most common toxins and the maximum allowed levels of each. But we go beyond compliance. When it comes to vape pens, consumers want to be sure that products are free from harmful cutting agents like vitamin E acetate, and our customers count on us for accurate and reliable results.
Am I required by law to test for all of the above contaminants?
The Florida Department of Agriculture’s Hemp guidelines do not specifically address rules for hemp and CBD vapes, but quality testing is no longer an option for companies that wish to compete in the increasingly regulated and consumer-driven marketplace. When it comes to medical marijuana, however, Florida law requires all vapes must be tested to ensure they are safe to ingest.
Safety & Compliance Testing:
Safety & Compliance Testing
ACS tests for more toxins than almost any other lab and outlines the maximum levels of each contaminant that are safe for human consumption. But when it comes to vapes, we know consumers want to know more:
At ACS Laboratory, we test vape pens to uncover the compounds that make up the therapeutic profile of its liquid-extract oil, along with its flavors and fragrances. Beyond THC, we can determine the potency of up to 16 additional cannabinoids like CBD, CBDA, CBN, CBG and THCA. Additionally, we recommend a testing panel specific to the product on hand.
For vapes, we recommend:
Vitamin E acetate has been used as a cutting agent by several vape cartridge manufacturers and is linked to several lung-related illnesses and deaths. Consumers want to be sure the product they’re using is 100% free from this substance.
Terpenes are aromatic organic compounds that work with cannabinoids to maximize the overall physiological and therapeutic effect. When brands know what terpenes their products contain, along with the corresponding concentration levels, they can educate consumers on the product’s unique benefits.
Flavonoids are responsible for bright, non-green pigments in cannabis that also synergistically produce an array of therapeutic benefits. ACS is one of the only laboratories capable of testing these compounds, which gives brands a key advantage in marketing their products.
Shelf life & stability determines the ideal number of days the product remains stable. While third-party laboratory testing is not legally required, all labels must contain printed expiration dates to indicate how long a product can last before losing potency. Thus, the best way for a manufacturer to determine expiration is to submit samples for shelf life and stability testing.
